Religion has always played a very important role in the lives of Indian people right from medieval times with majority population following Hinduism.
The Hindu belief and observance is based on historical legends,myths & folklore & customs are promoted & kept alive over the years in the form of rituals,the pilgrimage centres or tirthsthans are tried in with the ancient legends.
Traditionally Yatra is done from west to east. Starting from Yamunotri,then proseeding to Gangotri and finally to Kedarnath and then Badrinatrh
